Green Renovation: The Davenport Hotel

Principal Architect Pedro Castro and Magellan Associate Brianne Culley recently returned from a trip to Spokane where they presented at the Aging Services of Washington Annual Conference. The presentation was entitled “Changing Spaces: Flexibile Renovations for “New” Sustainable Environments.  Pedro and Brianne focused on flexible and adaptable space planning, new technologies, and durable materials for Senior Living: including Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing Facilities, and CCRCs.

The conference was hosted at The Davenport Hotel in downtown Spokane: what a perfect place to talk about green renovations! Originally built in 1914, the Davenport fell into disrepair at the end of the 20th century, but was restored to its original grandeur in 2002. They have a strong commitment to the environment, and to providing a great atmosphere – the facility is beautiful.
